Housing Selection for First-Year Students
2026-2027 Academic Year
First-time, first-year students at Saint Louis University are guaranteed housing. Housing will not be assigned until your enrollment deposit has been paid and your housing contract is on file. The priority deadline for new student housing at SLU is May 1.
Your enrollment deposit confirms your enrollment at Saint Louis University. Once it has been processed, you can access the housing contract.
Housing contracts open on Feb. 2, 2026. Assignments are based in the order of submission date.
Log in to eRezLife through the mySLU portal. Click "apply for housing" under recommended actions on the home page.
RoomeeZ allows students to create a profile, share personal details and search for potential roommates. Access to RoomeeZ becomes available once a housing contract has been submitted. As housing contracts are submitted throughout the summer, additional roommate options may appear over time, and students are encouraged to check back periodically.
Roommate requests are made by entering your requested roommate's information through RoomeeZ on eRezLife. Your roommate must also confirm the request through RoomeeZ.
Housing assignments are made and communicated to students between July 10-15 and on
a rolling basis after that.
Housing assignments are made based on the order in which housing contracts are submitted. If you edit your contract after submitting it, your submission date will reset to the date of the edit, which may affect your housing assignment priority. Requesting a roommate does not change your submission date.
Residency Requirement
Saint Louis University requires undergraduate students to live on campus for their first four semesters. First-year students should either complete a housing contract or a residency exemption by June 1, 2026 ,to meet the residency requirement.
Students must meet specific criteria to be released from SLU's residency requirement. If you live with your parents or guardians within a 25-mile radius of campus, are over 21, are married or have children you may be eligible for an exemption to the housing requirement.
The residency exemption request form will be available from Feb. 2, 2026, to June 1, 2026, on eRezLife.
If a student fails to complete the housing contract or residency exemption, they will be charged a $4,500 administrative fee for failure to meet the residency requirement. Students will have until the start of the contract period to complete a housing contract. If completed, the administrative fee will be removed and room and board charges will apply.
Housing Contract
The Saint Louis University housing contract covers both the fall and spring semester. This contract guarantees a space on campus, but does not designate a specific building, room type, or roommate. Every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate the preferences listed on your housing contract; however, assignments are based on availability at the time of assignment.
Your housing agreement with SLU is a contract. While certain circumstances may qualify for a contract release, financial implications will apply, particularly if a request is made later in the contract period.
