Trainings & Workshops

The Office of the Vice President for Research offers workshops to introduce Saint Louis University's research communities in St. Louis, Missouri, and Madrid, Spain, to the skills needed to develop an effective research plan or proposal.

These skills clarify and demystify the process of writing a successful research plan or funding proposal. The workshops combine formal presentations with peer discussion, in-class exercises and diverse assignments. We strive to keep group sizes small to maximize interaction and discussion.

Workshops last from three hours to six months and differ in several ways. The SLU Research Development Group can accommodate additional workshops should interest or need arise. Our two main training opportunities are listed below. Additional training opportunities will be listed here when they are scheduled.

Building Integrated Learning and Coaching Networks for Research (BILCN-Research) Program

The BILCN-Research Program is a six-to-nine-month, cohort-based research development program that develops SLU faculty’s networks and skills needed to advance their research agendas and effectively compete for external funding.
