Department of Radiology - Diagnostic Radiology Residency

Department of Radiology - A Message from the Program Directors

We are delighted that you are considering the Saint Louis University Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program for your training.

Our residency program provides broad training in diagnostic radiology within a subspecialized academic setting. All of our Saint Louis University Hospital and Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital Faculty are subspecialty fellowship trained and board certified. The faculty are dedicated to teaching residents, both at the “viewbox” and in a didactic setting. Through progressive responsibility, residents acquire the skills to accurately and efficiently interpret imaging studies and perform image-guided procedures across all modalities. The program is fully accredited by the ACGME and received the highest accreditation status at the most recent ACGME site visit.

Virtually all of our residents pursue subspecialty fellowship training at the conclusion of their residency. Our residents have a strong reputation for clinical excellence and the ability to “hit the ground running,” quickly becoming productive members of hospital radiology departments and private practice radiology groups. Additionally, we have a growing number of faculty with strong research interests who will continue to mentor residents who wish to pursue academic careers. Our past residents have pursued rewarding careers in outstanding private practice groups and leading academic institutions.

The working atmosphere at Saint Louis University is collegial and fun, which we feel is one of our great strengths. Saint Louis City and the surrounding County are vibrant areas with numerous activities for singles and for families. Our residents are a close knit group and frequently meet outside the hospital and form lasting friendships. We hope you come visit us on the interview trail to see for yourself!
